Sinusitis is inflammation of the paranasal sinuses. 
There are four sets: maxillary, frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid. 
A sinus is an air-filled cavities. 
Allergy is a common factor in sinusitis. 
80% of children with sinusitis have a family history of allergy. 

Antihistamines, nasal sprays, leukotriene blockers, allergen injections, and allergen avoidance can all be helpful.  Treatment may include prevention: avoiding the allergens that cause obstruction.
